Phone holder from Bavauto

Anyone have one of these? Are they good or bad?

I currently use a vent clip for my phone but this looks to be easier to pop on and off without blocking the air vent. Just wondering what others may think before I buy.

I wouldn't want one that clips onto the vents because (A)I'd worry about it possibly breaking the vent slats and (B)sticking a phone that already generates its own heat, which needs to be dissipated, in front of a vent that is also likely cranking out heat during the winter doesn't seem too good for the phone.

I looked at the kind that clipped onto the cupholder as well and I suppose that would work if you don't have a front passenger, but I think it'd be in the way if someone was sitting up there given the cupholders are already known for being a little in the way when they're in use. It also puts the phone fairly far out of your line of sight.

I ended up just getting one of these for my iPhone and I just leave it mounted low on the windshield so it's ready to use on the occasions where I need it. Being up there makes it much easier to use my phone for navigation.

I was never a fan of the vent clips either but I bought one a year ago. The one I bought works well.. never comes off and sits far enough away from the vent to allow air flow. Problem is, it's a big pain to put on and remove. The Kenu looks better. Also, storing the big beast is a pain as well. I don't use it much.

All this talk of heat hitting the phone has me a little puzzled. If you use auto mode there is very little heat that comes out of the dash vents. No??

The cupholder mount does not bother the passenger. I use it every day. Love it still!

Nah, I manage the climate control manually because I never like the way the car chooses to do it. I'm one of those weird people who would gladly ditch the automatic climate control for a few simple knobs and buttons. I usually have heat set for vents and floor, but fair point that anyone who doesn't follow that practice probably wouldn't have to worry about it.

I still prefer my windshield mount, though.
