Random question about dashboard

Alright, one thing I noticed on my 2011 335 is that on the driver's side of the dashboard - the panel on the side that pops off has a space near the bottom. Just enough to get my finger in there to pop it out. Wondering if this is the correct way it is on, or should it be flush all around? I tried pushing it in that spot and it doesn't "click" in or anything. I tend to notice small stuff like this. Anyone know the answer to this?

They only fit one way. I don't think there is a gap on my car.

Is the felt molding there? Should be covering part of the panel.

That's wrong, it looks warped. Replace it

Maybe all you need to do is press the panel inwards.

I tried pushing it in but I don't want to break the plastic clip on the backside of it. Next time I'm at the dealer I'll have them look at it. At least now I know it isn't how it should look...

I think the clip is misaligned and folded over.

Pull the panel off and make sure the tab is aligned with the hole it snaps into

But it's definitely not suppose to have that gap.
