Not necessarily any 'best' oil, but if at 145K miles you are beginning to have to top off between changes:

Mobil 1 SAE 0W-40, or,

Castrol Edge/Syntec SAE 5W-40 might work well

If no oil burning concern:

BMW High Performance 5W-30

Castrol Edge/Syntec 0W-30 (Commonly referred to as 'German Castrol'.)

Pennzoil Platinum European Formula Ultra SAE 5W-30

Valvoline SynPower SAE 5W-30

(Latter two may be impossible to find.)

Don't think there any others commonly available in N. America that meet BMW specs. Certainly not any of the other grades of Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge.

I bought Liqui Moly 0w-40
I think i did a mistake because its a LL-98 grade spec

I think the x3 need a LL-01 grade

Can i use it for this time til next oil change or its not good for the engine?

Or i go buy the mobil one 0w-40
and waste my money with the liqui moli?
