Original water pump or hoses?

I recently purchased a 2007 328i (105K miles) for my daughter. The interior and body look great and the engine looks and runs good but I do not have any service records for it. I plan to perform maintenance on it over the next few weeks covering all the essentials.

I am thinking about starting with the water pump and do a coolant flush. Before I do this, I am wondering if there is a way I can tell if it has been changed out already. Is there any specific labeling on the original hoses or the pump itself that could give a clue as to whether I should skip this task?

As I am a newbie....all help and comments are welcome...

The water pump can fail as early as 20k or last over 100k. I wouldn't do the pump/Tstat as preventative maintenance on this car. It can go either way...

Mine died at 80k.

The only thing I can recommend is to check realoem.com and see what part number you have on the pump. Then compare that number to the ones listed on realoem.com. There were a few revisions of the pump so if you have one of the early part numbers, it might indicate that it's the original pump.
