Mein Auto: 2014 BMW 335xi M Sport
My wife and I just had this discussion about our 2014 335xi that is enroute from Germany as I type. Our Jetta was named Portia by our oldest son, a lawyer. Very clever and set a high standard for car names.

For a BMW, I wanted to follow the female name starting with "B" convention, preferably German (I liked Birgitta or Bronwyn, although it is actually Welsh). That quickly failed. Then I tried Greek and Latin mythology (Briseis, Astraea or Ariadne). Every suggestion was rejected more or less out of hand. We eventually settled on Hadassah, but we going to call her Esther for every day usage.

Sorry for the double post, but I have no idea why that happened. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

That doesn't work too well when you have 3 blue BMW's in the garage

I don't have a name for my car, but my sister named the Nav system in her F30: Barbie "She's pretty, but she doesn't have much between the ears..."

My first bimmer, a 1993 E36, got the name Otto. Its replacement, a 2003 E46, became Otto II, and now my sort-of-new 2013 F30 is Otto III. Baby photos here:

Interesting related fact that I just read - Sebastian Vettel names his F1 car every year. This year's car name? Suzie.

Guess it's been working for him!

One year he had named his car Kate. Then half way through the season he had the car replaced because of a crack in the tub. He then called the car Kate's Dirty Sister because he said they looked the same but the new car was faster, wilder and more fun to ride.

Manfred

Recently drank the BMW Kool Aid, and am happy to have done so. New 2013 leftover with 11 miles and a deep discount. Named it "Manfred" after the Red Baron.

Same here. When I told my son I was going to get a 320i, he (2010 328i 6MT owner) told me "welcome to the darkside" As far as naming my car - not sure if I will but, I keep thinking Juniper for the e320 router.
