Automatic Transmission Buzz

My 1999 740il has started to make a buzzing sound and a vibration you can hear and feel inside the car. It only does this when it is in gear. The sound and vibration goes away in park or neutral. It does not matter what gear is selected. The car does not have to be moving.
While under the hood, the sound is loudest between the engine and firewall. With my hand on the engine I can feel the vibration come and go as the transmission is shifted from neutral to reverse. As the car is driven the sound and vibration remain, seems slightly decreased but not much. There are no codes. Any Ideas?
