BMW X3 VS. X4 Photo Comparison

The new BMW X4 offers the premium mid-size segment its first taste of the Sports Activity Coupe concept. Like its larger sibling, the BMW X6, the X4 offers a unique and unmistakable presence on the road. On the other hand the BMW X3 offers more utility to go along with the sport, in the mid-sized Sports Activity Vehicle segment. The X3 boasts more cargo room and versatility.

As far as looks, the X4 definitely gets it's styling from the X6, where the X3 draws from the X5. Have a look at the two side by side in our photo comparison.

I like the X4, but will test drive the (2015) X3 as well, if neither impress me with their handling & performance, then I will probably just get a 328...

Driving a loaner 2014 X3 2.8 the last couple days. Slightly under-powered, but handles well and I find the cabin comfortable. I had an '04 X3 prior to my '11 X5 and while we do like the space for hauling, trips, etc., the V8 gas mileage is something my bride reminds me about quite often.

I really think the X4 is for me, even in a 2.8. We'll keep the X5 for runs to our shore house and for the cargo space, but for my daily driver, I think X4 is the right one for me.

I think the refresh on the X3 is too good and will likely kill X4 sales. Plus the diesel. Forget it.
