Mocha Nappa and jeans

Hello Everyone,
I've been reading all of the great info on these boards for about a year but have finally run into a few things and I need some advice.

I've got a 2014 550 on order for a May ED and have a question about the interior color. Does anyone have the mocha nappa interior and noticed the seats discoloring because of your jeans? I know I could go with black, but I think the mocha looks really great with the white exterior.

I recently picked up a 2014 X3 with the sand beige interior and find myself having to clean the seats every few days.

Here is the 550 config:
Alpine White
M Sport
Park Assist
Cold Weather
Drivers Assist Plus
Acc Stop and Go
Lighting Package
Lux Seating
Executive Package

Both BMW deals with David at Steve Thomas BMW. Really easy and straight forward to deal with.

Thanks!

I've had 2 Cinnamon brown interiors, a good bit lighter than Mocha. I've never needed to clean the seats due to dye transfer. In fact, I just sold my 42-month old 535i and cleaned the Cinnamon seats 2 times during ownership. They were showroom clean when I sold it last week.

Mocha's quite dark, so I'd be surprised if blue dye from jeans would be visible on it. Oyster or Ivory, sure, but probably not a concern with Mocha.

Or maybe just clean it when it stains.

I've never had the problem yet even with very dark jeans. It's kind of nice coming from Creme Beige where I had to clean my seats about every two days.

Mocha and wear jeans all the time...no issues...it really is a dark color, so I doubt you have any issues...

You aren't allowed to enter a BMW wearing those cheap jeans that aren't dyed properly. You can look it up. It is in the style manual.

Cheap jeans are all I can afford now.

Thanks everyone for their input. I'll be sticking with my original choice of mocha!

Is anthracite the trim color that best goes with the mocha? I'm looking for the trim in this photo.

The dye will clean off. I had a loaner with beige interior and I drove it over 300 miles, when I got to my destination the seats were blue. They cleaned easily

You may want to consider the aluminum trim. I went with it for something different, and really like it. The aluminum gives it a very "modern" / art deco type of feel.

What kind of jeans do you guys wear that it would visibly stain Mocha-coloured leather? Then again, perhaps I don't want to know the answer to that question. At any rate, I had Oyster Nappa in my F01 and never had any problems with staining or dye with that colour, which is much lighter than Mocha, when I would wear my jeans.

I have the mocha and AP white combo. Love it! After almost six months, no stains or marks from my Jordache jeans. My X5 has cinnamon interior and I've had some color transfer from my jeans. Every couple months I take some cheap saddle soap with a damp cloth and it comes off in seconds and looks brand new. And I was joking about the Jordache jeans.

An additional precaution that can be taken is to wash any suspect new jeans and Hawaiian shirts in warm/cold to get rid of the over-dye then wash again in cold/cold with a cup of white vinegar and extra rinse to set the remaining dye. Discovered this after permanently staining a beige leather interior on an earlier car I had.

I think the trim in the picture in combination with the Mocha interior looks awesome. I bought a left over 2013 with a black interior/anthracite, but would have chosen Mocha had there been one available.

grover432 - That photo is one of the most realistic photos of Mocha. Most of the real world photos are over exposed and the mocha color turns much lighter compared to reality.

OP - if I was going for the MSport line, I would most definitely go with Al. Hex Trim (have had wooden trims for too long plus the AHT looks very modern, sporty and clean....art deco type as someone pointed out). If not, I'd stick with Anthracite. Mocha or black both go very well with either of these. PS: I have seen all 4 combos in person on LCI F10.
