2015 MY Changes

We are planning an ED delivery of a 2015 335 this fall. Are there rumors of any changes for the next model year?

The only, unofficial one, I heard of was that the sport transmission will be standard.

There was some discussion that MY15 would include LCI, but that doesn't seem likely with the announcement of the X3 LCI already.

Does the current 2014 3 series have this?

Every 2015 BMW X4 is equipped with 10 free years of BMW Assist eCall service. With this service, the X4 automatically contacts the BMW Call Center following a collision with an air bag deployment, conveying the SUV's exact location and key information about the event, including an assessment of likely occupant injury.

I predict the MY2015 F30 will get a different instrument panel, more like the 2013+ F25. And maybe integration of Apple's CarPlay feature.

Then, X4's are tracked.

Your E93 with premium package had BMW Assist for the first four years. The only difference is that now it's free for ten years.

I personally have been expecting an LCI - this is the 4th model year of the run (2015). Prior 3-series received 1 or 2 LCI's by now (e90 had their LCI in 2009, which was the 4th model year). E46 had an LCI in 2001 (new engines, exterior tweaks) and again in 2004 IIRC.

I don't believe the N20/n26 engine will be tweaked much - maybe a power bump, maybe not. But the n55 is growing a bit long in the tooth and I believe there is a new engine platform in development to replace it. EA38 or something like that. I expect it will be a 2015 or 2016 release, so it might come out int he new 3.

The E46 got new motors in MY 2001. It got one LCI; MY 2002 for the sedan and wagon and 2004 for the coupe and 'vert.

The first model year for the E90 ran for eighteen months. The first model year for the F30 ran six months. The F30 has just now been on the market for twenty four months. It is very unlikely it will receive its LCI for MY 2015.

BMW is saying now that the F3X LCI introduction will be measured in calendar years, no more in model years.

So LCI in 2015 as a MY2016, or about 4 calendar years from starting of F30 production.

Fair enough, thanks for the clarification. I also forgot the e90 received new engines or engine tweaks to both models in it's second MY.

Looks like f30 first hit U.S. showrooms in February 2012, which confirms what you said only being out for 24 months now.
