Mein Auto: 2006 325i
cylinder 5 misfire. please help

I got a cylinder 5 misfire code, idle has been rough. i changed all 6 spark plugs, and the idle got more rough and service engine light is still on. what should i try next? any ideas

Change the coil pack on the misfiring cylinder.

Your plugs are most likely incorrectly gapped.

Even if the manufacturer claims they are pre-gapped, I've seen on multiple occasions, the gap is incorrect.

Resetting adaptations will also help.

What is your current code(s)? This would go a long way toward diagnosing the problem.

P0305 was the code. I will change the coil pack. i'm guessing i gotta pay at least $60 for one

I should rephrase what I said.

I meant to say swap the coil pack on cylinder 5.

Take a coil pack from say, cyl 4 and swap it with cyl 5.

If the code follows, it's the coil pack that is bad.

Injectors rarely fail on the N51/2

Read with....what? It is way too common that Autozone reads the codes, or Pep Boys, or some other clueless entity.
