"REST" feature no more?

I found this feature very useful on my 335i but in my search for a new 2/4 series it doesn't seem that BMW offers it anymore. Does it exist still? If not anyone know why?

Tony

If you push the Start button once (without touching the brake) when the car is off the heating/ventilation comes on.

Really? That's good news. Does it cycle the AC as well as Heat? That would be cool, literally lol.

REST was a nice feature. It went away for the 10 or 11 models. Alot of small things like seatback nets and trunk hooks also were taken out around that time. BMW just saving money. N4S.

love REST in the winter
our old Cayenne had it, too

if anyone finds it in climate settings, please post

the only thing I see on p. 147 is "ventilation" that allows you to set a time to have the fan come on to cool the cabin for 30 minutes. pretty sure my 07 has this too; never used it.

Yes I think so, probably would stop after a short time to save the battery though.

No, that's just parked-car ventilation. It turns on the blower at a preset time, nothing more. Residual heating (the REST button) would activate the electric water pump to circulate hot coolant to the heater core. Without that, the circulating air is only warmed until the coolant in the core cools to ambient. In cold weather, that's a matter of a minute or two (if that).

Correct. Nice feature, if you can predict when you will return to the car on a hot summer day.

No. The A/C compressor is driven by the engine. Engine off = no air conditioning.

This needs to be added to the remote app...

Rest still exists. When you shut the car off hit the fan up button. The fan will blow warm air with the car off.

Unfortunately, they took out the water pump during the LCI of the e9x gen and instead implemented the 'ALL' button, which they removed in the F3x gen. REST was a great feature. BMW's been doing a lot of cost cutting on their model line-up.
