Sirius SAT Radio Addon/Activation

Wondering if anyone went through hell getting there Sirius/XM operating?

I bought a 2011 335i, added in Sirius/XM from the dealer when I purchased it. Paid $600, which is the cost of the activation code! They could not get it working because the link to BMW was not working and it was on a SAT.

They sent me on my marry way and said the code is up there and the next time you come across a BMW dealership have them give us a call and we will get that up and running.

I exported my vehicle to Canada and brought it to a dealership this past week. The code expired, had no idea about that, and when they went to renew they could not find it up in the system. Come to find out BMW U.S. and BMW Canada are two separate entities, which I sort of knew, and thus the code key purchased in the U.S. is not a valid key to be activated in Canada because the programmer is a canadian piece of equipment. URR OK!

So I left there after driving 5hrs with no operating Sirius/XM radio yet and full of questions as to how this will get resolved. The dealerships are supposedly going to try and work this out but I don't understand the complexity. They said worse case is we have to purchase another code for $600. $600 to activate.....HOLY CRAP! plus they said $140 to program it. OUT OF THERE FRIGGEN MINDS!

Does anyone know the process for this? Is this something I can do on my own? The hardware is already there but I don't understand how to program, as they say, the iDrive. The iDrive does not see the Sirius/XM module which is the issue here and they said it required programming but a key is needed for that...

Hey thanks :-)

I'm gonna see what the dealer can come up with here. But I figured I could get something a lot lower in price to their rediculous $600 price tag! This is definitely my contingency.
