Warning light help!

OK weird thing started this morning on my 2008 E90 335xi. Got the car on a lift warning light when i turned my car on (in yellow). See photo. In addition, the clock got reset as did the trip odometer.

The cars manual states that this warning lamp could be:
-Control of brake lamps failed
-fuel supply malfunctioning
-trailer lamps malfunctioning

I checked the brake lights and they worked fine. WTF is a trailer lamp? Why is fuel supply lumped into electrical issues on this warning lamp? Could this be a battery dying?

I haven't been able to get an OBD scanner yet so I don't have a code. When I reset the clock, turn off the car, then turn it right back on, the error clears. When the car sits for more than an hour or so, the issue pops up again, clock/trip ODO reset and this warning lamp comes on.

Am I getting to know the infamous BMW electrical "personality"?

Any tips are much appreciated!

Seeing it at the start in yellow is typically a warning that service is due soon. Yellow Car On Lift is typically a 30000 mile service reminder. If it's showing you a mileage number and date below, that's what it is and the numbers denote when it's due.

Clock and trip resetting is odd. Do you know how old the battery is?
