BMW M44 Camshaft Alignment??

I am almost ready to remove my head gasket and have my cam locking tool in place. However, the tool does not sit well on the intake cam (exhaust cam is fine). When I took I closer look, I found that my intake cam is at a slight angle compared to the exhaust cam (not parallel) which is causing the lock tool to not sit properly. Should I realign the intake cam or just leave it?
