What BMW should I buy?

I've finally decided that it's time to get a new dd. I want something fun to drive with excellent handling for under 15,000. I'm mainly looking at the E30 and 2002. Would these fit the bill? Which is better? And should I consider anything else?

2002s are nearly 40 years old, while the newest E30 is 23. You can get a very nice E46 in your price range that will probably need less work.
"Better" is subjective and depends on what properties you're looking for. For a daily driver I would consider the newest, most up-to-date serviced example the budget allows.

It doesn't say where you're from, so I'd keep in mind that most 2002s don't have A/C, either. If its your DD you might want some air conditioning. You could even get an e90 in your price range - maybe a 2006 330 with decent miles or even a newer 335 or 328.

Bump your price up a little and get an E30 M3 one of my favorite by far.

x2-3 more dollars for a non-ragged one these days.
$15K would get you a nice 2002 and a very nice E30 (except M3). You need to drive an example of each and see what best suits your needs.
