Clutch Help 328xi

Hey guys, I have a clutch problem on my 2010 328xi 58k and wondering what you all think. The car drives ok in 1st and 2nd gears but when I switch into 3rd, 4th etc after 3000 rpm it jumps to about 6000 rpm and slowly accelerates while rpm drop to around 4000 before going up. It feels like the clutch is skipping then engages back or similar to burning out in the rain when rpmís jump and go back down when the tires finally grip the road. Does that sound like the clutch is going out or maybe a master cylinder? Itís strange to me that its working in 1st and 2nd gears. BTW I am a 2nd owner and haven't had the car much so I donít know if the prior owner drove it properly.

Sounds strange to be slippage is 1st -> 2nd works without any issue. How is 1st to 2nd with higher rpm, similar to your 3rd, 4th scenario? Do you know the maintenance record? Clutch bleeding? Was the lock valve removed perhaps?

Your clutch is slipping for sure. You need a new one.

Thanks, yes it was the clutch. I had it replaced today and it was in terrible shape, even started cracking in the middle. I took the car to Alex's Auto Shop ( http://www.alexshopinc.com/ ) , great guys , specialize in German cars. They gave me the best price, highly recommend for anyone in Orlando.
