E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Tire sizes

I just bought a set of 16 inch wheels for my e30. They came with 205-50-16 tires but they are way to low profile for my wheel Wells. What size would be the same width but taller to take up more of that gap?

i would only go up to a 205/55r16 or maybe a 215/55r16 but it will throw the speedo off by a few mph

The gap is mostly an optical illusion... When you go +2 on the size, most people will lower the car to make it look better. While it's not especially cheap, Bilstein Sports with H&R race springs gives you a nice look, and a nice trade-off between handling/ride.

Yes that actually is the correct size tire. But if the car has stock suspension they will look a little odd.

Here is a handy tire calculator that lets you compare tire sizes and gives you an indication of what the impact will be on your indicated vs actual speed.
