Owner's manual... is there a M specific manual?
So I picked up my '01 seca blue MR today and drove 7 hours to get it to its new home, I'm still on cloud 9. Anyway, I am pretty sure the person I bought it from bought it new from a dealer in '02 (VIN report). It appears that the dealer gave him the manual for the non-M variant. Mid trip the tire pressure light came on and started blinking. I couldn't figure out what it was at first. Pulled into a rest area to check the manual out but it was of no help because the warning light isn't even listed in the manual.
So I assume there is a M specific manual? any idea how much it'd cost and best place to get one? Also the car didn't come with keyless entry. Is the factory unit decent? or should I just get a Clifford? |

There sure is! Part number 01 41 0 026 955. Pacific BMW on the west side and Circle BMW on the east will probably have the best prices. Shouldn't cost more than $25.

Glad to Hear of your New Love
Hi
I did some searches on alarms. What I found is that most folks feel BMW has a inferior alarm system. So I got a Clifford G850 I very happy with it. I added the windows down system, so I could vent the car when its Hot! I can open them all the way or just a little. Mike T

Thanks guys! While I was in the rest area I pulled out the air compressor and checked pressure on all 4 tires. Turned out they were all way over inflated to 40-50 psi. Dropped it down to spec 35 f and 38 r. Reintialized the system (called the previous owner) and the light hasn't come back on yet.
I will probably go for a Clifford. My experience tells me all factory alarms can be defeated in less than 2 minutes. I've always had Cliffords on my previous cars... believe it or not the most expensive one was defeated by a thief, but that's another long story. Thanks for the referrals and recommendations. Are there any places in or near Santa Monica, Del Rey, or Culver worth going to? much closer to where I work/live. Thanks again. |

Well done on the M
Congrats on your purchase.
I also have an 01 MR in Seca Blue. Glad to see there is at least one other one out there. ![]() Mine is pretty much stock apart from the 83mm Eisenmann pipes. Have fun with yours. Simon |

Thanks all. Will probably pay Auto Ent a visit this weekend. Need to get an alarm installed.

Call them before you go -- it could be their weekend off. Shop isn't fancy, but look at what they're working on.....
