What's FMIC an acronym for? There a recommended oil cooler? The sport option already comes with one correct should just get the BMW part or aftermarket?

Front Mounted Innercooler

Oil cooler is an expensive addition and I ran aggressive cobb maps without it granted I was on the east coast and beginning of the summer I was seeing temps above the mid-point...

Given your in Texas I'd advise to do it.

If you shopped used from good sellers on e90post you can save big on bolt ons like downpipes, FMIC, etc.

If you're spending the money on a oil cooler might as well just get DP's and FMIC and call it a day and be super fast

The FMIC will be important in Texas because even with the oil cooler your engine after stepping on it and then trying to reapply throttle you will lose LOTS of power doing multiple pulls. A big FMIC will help with this.

Front Mounted InterCooler is good, though OP already has one stock, but Meth ( alcohol and water injection) is better. Meth, after all, provides in cyl cooling and don't get heat soaked. Can easily be turned off (JB4) when not needed.

That oil cooler is a good addition, as chemical activity increases w/temperature - read oxidation - and beyond a point decreases lubricity. BMW includes it w/sport option for some pretty good reasons and OP should pay attention to that!

Cal, you are right. B4 I installed methonal my oil would go over the 250 mark after a few hot runs and car would go into limp mode but now it always stays under. Even seems to get better the more I step on it. Maybe because the meth seems to only kick in after 50% throttle is applied? Sure gives it a good kick on the high end now too!
