Help!! (ASAP)

Hi guys,
I have a 328i 2007 model. Earlier my lanyard on my keychain wrapped around my electronic key while inserting into the key slot. When I realized, tried to pull it out and got stuck and I cant pull it out. I cant use it to unlock/lock the car. While the key is in, nothing happens and it feels like the brakes are locked when I push down on it. My hazard lights also flicker and the light control all the way to the left and i hear like a trrrrrr noise and the faster the lights flicker the faster the noise. Anybody have any ideas what this might be? i tried using the spare key as well, same thing happened with the first key. I was assuming it might be the cars response to anti-theft and it shut itself down..I would really appreciate any help, I take care of my car well but I'm not familiar with this situation at all so I don't want to get screwed when taking it into service. Thanks.

If it went in it will come out. You may have to wrestle it out but I would try pushing it all the way in then pulling it out again since it's the way it works when it's not stuck.

What's the lanyard made of .... may have to try to fish out with a small needle or thin knitting hook .......

I would see if you can wiggle it out. As mentioned, if it went in, it should be able to come out. Make sure your car is off and in park, or the key housing will keep your key locked in there and you may break something. Also, a lanyard may be a poor choice for carrying your key (for more reasons than just this issue).

Does the "key slot" have a locking mechanism? If it does, then pulling it out may break that mechanism. Did you try calling BMW? THey may have suggestion. Also, the owners manual might have information.

Does the lanyard slide around a bit? Can you cut one side of the lanyard and pull it through?
