Would you buy a 2008 328i with 167k mile for 10 grand ?

Looking at the pictures and car fax everything look clean. It had only one owner no accidents. Would it be a good choice to buy it ?

Maybe five grand...maybe.

You can do better, much better. Also, I would ask this in the E90 forum as the car you are asking about is from the e90 generation.

I haven't looked carefully but my impression is that the usual selling price would often be a little higher than $5k.

Put another way, if you can put another 80k miles on it, the car will have about no value. Figure that into dollars and cents. On the other hand, after the first 80k miles, the car might have dropped half in value.

As long as you know what you're potentially getting into, you're fine. I have a 1999 car with 160k miles on it. It hasn't needed a repair in a year.

Not yet, and not at that price. You got some checking to do....

If you're handy and have access to a lift, elderly cars can be a great pleasure to own. Shucks, I have a Jeep, 300k+ mi, runs great - after some customization.

The previous owner is selling/sold it for some reason besides that it was dirty.

So, no.

I wouldn't buy a 2008 328i with 167K unless it was $1 and I was related to the owner. If I already had a 2008 328i with 167K, I might keep it for a while longer, but I wouldn't go out an buy one for $10K.

There are much better choices for $10K. If you don't have money to burn (like most of us here), think "Toyota".

For another 10K you can probably get into a 335i with half the mileage. I would imagine for around 15k you could also get a 328i with half the mileage.
