Mein Auto: '08 JB4 TT 335i Sedan
'08 335i JB4 Sedan. Bad MPG or Bad Maps?

So I pay $4 bucks a gallon for 93 octane in my bimmer. My cluster says I am getting 15 mpg. I keep my car running on Map 2 (14.5psi) via JB4. Should I run the car on Map 0 (JB4 disabled) for better milage? Or Map 4 (OEM Tuning)? I easily see myself paying $20 every two days to keep the car going. I can't afford that any longer.

I know next to nothing about jb4 since I'm running my car unmodified, but have you considered the way in which you drive as a factor in low mileage? My avg is about 16 mpg, but it's because I drive almost exclusively in town and I like to accelerate quickly from lights.

I average 19 mpg around town on map 1. The car accelerates quicker than anything else around me even with light pedal, so i find no need to accelerate hard all of the time. Map 0 will improve my mileage 1-2 mpg typically, but for a 2 mpg loss, I'd rather have the tune on in case I have to jump on it in traffic!

lo well you got a car that at best was 22-29mpg to begin with then wanted to tune which inherently decreases the MPGs I went from 25-29 to 17-23 with my tuning..

Bottom line take the tune off and it should be good for 2-5mpg but if you want gas problems try an f10 M5 with BMS stage 1

$10 per day too much?

>SNIFF!<

You drive a BMW, fine machinery not meant for bargain hunting Walmart patrons. Man Up, Crosshairs, or shop for that used Prius you've been dreaming of. Perhaps you've over-reached by driving 335i, a luxury car as well as performance car and by all accounts a prestige ride.

You cannot assume the mantle of BMW ownership, displaying your prowness in your high priced ride, without also paying as you go. If you are compelled to complain about gasoline expense, you should not associate yourself with BMW in any way.

BMW prestige is no joke! Those seeking to dilute the brand must be exposed to the light of day....or every BMW pilot stands to lose snoot.

It will not stand. No! It will not stand. That whining Liberal bias must be quashed before acquiring traction of any kind - standards must be upheld!

Yes, BMW is a super-luxury car. BMW is a car of great quality and capability best showcased as M3, but trickling down to even the base 128i. Why, every BMW pilot here shares in the knowledge that their ride is superior to lowly Detroit iron, Volkswagens, and close-but-no-cigar Audi's.

Gentlemen, I revel in my worth as owner of a BMW. You should too.
