The car actively monitors the state of charge on the battery. If the battery is determined to have a low charge or the performance is weak, the car will disable or limit convenience features, comfort access being one of the first times to be disabled. Other features include stuff like welcome lighting, heated seats, rear defroster etc

Also the door lock actuators could be making that noise due to low current draw. They require a decent amount of current and with a weak battery, you will strain the actuators.

Great posts/videos guys. I would watch the how to check your battery ones but one my first visit after I bought this 2012. Danielle (My BMW SA) is like "Well, there was a recall so we just gave you a new battery." I said "did the battery cable recall get done?" as my '08 was just in for that about 4 mo. ago. It was done. These newer luxury cars have some really good diagnostics. So some of my coworkers be drivin' the new chevy cruze and it has a fob w/flip key that (not verified) will start the car
