Potential buy, e92 335xi.

Hi everyone, I have a friend that is looking at a pre-facelift e92 335xi (2008 coupe) at a stealership with only 10k miles. I have a few questions about the deal. The main questions are: the asking price is set at 26k and its NOT a certified pre-owned. The sales rep said he can get the car certified and it would then come with a CPO warranty (it does not currently come with a warranty). Is this price highly overpriced or reasonable?

Also, I have an e39 540i, pre facelift and a 2006 Audi A4, 2.0T Quatro, and compared to these cars, the steering of that 335xi was VERY heavy. Is this normal or some sort of issue with the car?

Lastly, are there things we should watch out for when looking at this car?

Heavy steering on a BMW is a feature

Heavy steering on a BMW is a feature.
They keep trying to do away with it though and have
succeeded with the electric steering in the New Models

6 years young, driven not quite 139 miles per month. How can that be?

OK, listen up. The steering of the E9x is not heavy - others are light. Yes. So light the wheel can be twirled with one finger, and right there you should have an idea of why that is bad.

A car that takes both hands to change direction is a car that you must pay attention to! No limp wristed Liberal foo-foo for proper ladies, this 3 is all man - and you may thank God for it!

At last, a car you can feel accomplished about after having driven, because you have accomplished something. Indeed yes - and the good news is: there is much more! Start with suspension options, and definitely attend a BMW driving school. You will learn much, mrpumpk1n, and soon will eschew nose heavy Audi and bloat belly 540i's. In buying this car you take your first step into a larger world, a country is which all roads lead to M Division and your Jedi skills at last can be developed!

Unleash your Wah...***** this car....post your progress!

I am not personally buying the car, my friend is. I have always wanted this particular model.. until I drove it and I was personally put off by it rather quickly. The car felt a lot less nimble than my boaty 540i and understeering A4. My 540i has "heavy" steering compared to other cars I have driven and this was just overwhelmingly bad. My friend loved the car though. I did also find it very odd that the car only has 10k miles on it. The dealership refuses to give any kind of service history, and I found that to be odd. Can anyone actually verify that the steering is indeed heavier on the e92 than the e39?

I'd be leery that they won't give any service records.

It'S a heavier car than the e39

It'S a heavier car than the e36
Also x drive adds to the heaviness to I think.
