E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

New Member - about to buy a 1 series..question

Hi All,

This is my first post and I have a question for you. I am going to be buying a 2011 135i in a few days. I have it down to 3-4 cars that fit my requirements. There is one car that was first on my list because of color, options, miles/owners, however when I was talking to the dealer he said it was in their shop having a gasket replaced before it would be ready to test drive. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it something they often do after receiving a returned lease.

This car has roughly 30k miles and is a CPO.

Thanks for any an all advice/help.

Other than title being clean there nothing to check for that you would not check for any other car.
HPFP is still under warranty for a long time same with turbos. So you are good to go.
Just find a car you really like and pick patiently.

Piece of mind with CPO. Up to 100,000 miles. Sleep well and enjoy the ride.

What kind of gasket? A head gasket?

I went by my local BMW dealer and looked in his scrap parts bin. I can't even begin to tell you of the horror I beheld! Anyway, I wouldn't buy any used BMW that wasn't certified!

My 135i M-Sport that I bought new is going to be traded as soon as the warranty is up. I'm not hard on the car, but this is a brand that isn't know for reliability!
