Exhaust Tip Replacement?

Hello all,
Obviously I am new to this forum and just wanted to thank everyone for being so resourceful and walking me through a few mod installations (I've referred to hundreds of threads on here to diagnose, repair and mod my cars before joining). However, I haven't found a thread that addresses changing out the old, matte aluminum exhaust tips on my '08 335 sedan.

I've owned a 2006 330i and a 2008 328i and those tips easily came off for cleaning/changing purposes. I'm a weekend detailer and even the slightest bit of carbon buildup drives me nuts. It seems to cling to the alumimum OEM tips and is much easier to clean off chrome. I went to twist the tips off my 335 and I'm wondering if they even come off at all. Anybody have any idea? Are mine seized, or can I give myself an excuse to buy the performance exhaust?

They are welded on, cut off and weld on new ones is the only option on the 335.
