Question Camshaft position issues continue

Well, I have been chasing ghosts around my engine for the better part of a few months here and I am not sure what to do. I have a 03 325i with 121k miles. I have posted a couple times asking for advice that has helped tremendously. Here is the long story short.

Car went into limp mode. Had it towed to shop. Throttle body was shot and needed to be replaced. While there, they noticed that the VCG was leaking and my belts were awful.

Replaced VCG, spark plugs, and belts

3 day later intake camshaft position error, replaced sensor, problem goes away for 1 week.

same error, so I do a VANOS Seals refresh. While I have things apart, I did an oil change and CCV replacement.

Car then had codes for camshaft position error. I decide to take it to a shop for complete diagnosis. They find I am getting misfire codes that follow the injectors for cylinder 3 and 6 around. They do complete smoke test, compression test, and at the end of the day say they are not sure what is causing the camshaft position codes unless they start replacing parts, adjusting timing, etc, which I would be charged each and every penny for (quote for $6k).

So I decided to fix the misfires and put in new injectors, and since I was messing with the fuel system, a new filter and pump. I then replaced the exhaust camshaft position sensor.

I am still getting the camshaft position errors and I have done everything except replace the entire VANOS unit or redo the timing. Is that where I am at now? Does anyone have any other advise for me? I don't want to keep replacing parts and keep oembimmerparts in business from my little E46 alone.

Probably asked already but the sensor was Genuine BMW or OEM from reputable vendor? Any discussion of the intake vanos piston solenoid in the other threads?

All parts were Genuine BMW or OEM and purchased from oembimmerparts.com.
