Mein Auto: e23, e32, e34, e39
You'll have to tee in a gauge and start pinching off hoses to see where the pressure bleeds down. Did the new pump have any check valve?

Yes, the new fuel pump has a working check valve, this is the replacement fuel pump (http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-...34-16141181354).
