Question Transmission options

My transmission just went out in my 86 528e automatic. I been reading that this has two sensors on the transmission. What other options do I have

Replace it with a used one, rebuild it, or consider a manual trans swap. Member "south26" (Andy) may have some transmissions available, PM him and see.

Thanks for the quick reply. Stock transmissions are hard to find here in hawaii. Rebuilding it cost to much here also. Do you know if an e36 m3 trans fit or a thing similar.

Sorry no tranny, and no a e36 tranny will not work. The auto tranny will be electric shift verses non electric with the the 528e. Also the e36s did not use the m20. You could get an auto tranny from a 325i e30. Th e2 sensors in the bell housing have nothing to do with shifting, but the car needs them to start.
