New Tires

Recommendations and pros and cons. Just went through the thread a little below and looks like Pirelli has some RFT and non-RFT options. 550GT. I am overall satisfied with the OEM ride but happy to mix it up.

We (the wife) could not be happier with our Hankook Ventas V12 evo k110. They are a performance NON-RFT tire and therefore low wear life. If you don't mind replacing the tires a more frequently I highly recommend, it feels like the GT gains grip as you increase speed on the flyovers...very fun

Bought a set of 4 at TireRack for <$900.

They will not be good in the weather if we have another winter like this previous one though.

Glad to hear you enjoy them. Since we purchased ours gas mileage has decreased, but we get there faster. (There = the next stop light most of the time...well that was until the better 1/2 got the speeding ticket, but soon off her 90 day probation) ;-)

I live out east of Dallas in the country and I ran the PGB Tollway from 30 near Lake Ray Hubbard to E35N to run my oldest to a baseball tourney. I was near 100 mph the entire away with the Valentine 1 on high alert. Car is butter when in Sport mode. My son asked my why I don't drive my car as fast as I drive my wife's X5 M-Sport. I said I drive this a lot faster it is just butter.

A few months back (shortly after getting our new tires) we went to Galveston and on the way back I had a quiet stretch of road with a good view and our older model Beltronics running (I don't trust it as much as I used to with all the new laser technology that is out there), my goodness it takes a long time to coast back down to 90 from 130. Anyway, running at 90 becomes commonplace and too often catch myself higher on our road trips as these wheels only help in the "butter" sensation you so appropriately defined.
