Please help with headlights!

I am new to BMW and very confused. I have tried searching and I'm not finding a definite answer. I have a 2010 328i e90. What headlight do I have? I think it's halogen with angel eyes but now I'm reading that there are three types of lights for this model? Pictures attached

It appears that you do have the halogen headlights.

You have halogen lights.

But the LCI halogen housings were made by 2 supplier, Valeo or ZKW.

If you open the hood and look at the housings, you should see markings for one or the other. The main difference is the bulb type for the angel eyes, one being H8 the other a propritary bulb. I can never remember which goes to which but if you google you should be able to find the answer

I want to switch to all white lights soon. That was the main reason for me wondering what lights I had.

Yes, you have LCI lights. Since you have a halogen setup, the most inexpensive way to have all white lights would be to buy halogen bulbs with a higher color temperature. You could also buy aftermarket headlights with a xenon setup, but a full Xenon conversion will be expensive; upwards of $2,000.

It depends what housing he has. If it's the one with the H8, he can buy a halogen bulb in another color temp. But for the other housing, it is a proprietary bulb and only the OEM bulb and LED bulbs made specifically for the application will work.

The OEM xenon setup is about $2000 for parts, labor, and coding. You can get a set of euro oem adaptive housings for under $1500.

You also have the option of DEPO housings. These run about $500-$700 depending on if they are modded and how they are modded.

Fishcake321 on eBay sells modded DEPO housings. For the most part, these housings are plug and play. But I recommend coding the car for xenons anyway.

Thanks guys! I am probably going to stay halogen and just go the higher temperature route. I feel like changing the actual bulbs won't be bad. But how difficult is it to change the angel eyes? I was thinking about doing the lux. Everyone seems to be pleased with them.

It can vary. Some models take different bulbs than others. I just ordered some new xenon bulbs, and got some new AE bulbs with them. From what I found, it can depend on what year, what type of lights you have (halogen or xenon), or what body style you have (e90, e91, etc.).

I don't recommend buying bulbs on eBay, however; you really don't know what you're getting. And with some models needing different bulbs than others, it's best to take the safe route.

You can do a search on the forum for "angel eyes", "angel eyes bulb" or something similar. That can take you down the path that you should follow.
Alternatively, you can search for a site that deals specifically in bulbs, and armed with the knowledge from your forum search, you can purchase AE bulbs from a reputable bulb dealer that will fit your specific model.
