why such variance on tire reviews ? MXV4

why are there such variances on user tire reviews ?

I have been shopping for a quiet smooth touring tire .. example: looking at the Michelin MXV4 ..

What I am reading is some say the mxv4 is crazy noisy (scoring a 1/10) .. while others say is VERY quiet (scoring a 10/10) ... now I could understand some differences in opinions .. but I can't see how the reviews could be this wide apart on even this one single issue (i.e. regarding noise).

So what's going one here, are some folks getting the same tire but from another manufacturing location ? are there BIG differences in manufacturing runs from year to year .. or location build to location build ??

I am trying to understand these inconsistancies !

thanks.

I am trying to understand these inconsistancies !
1) There are several tires named MXV4 - Primacy, Energy, etc. Could be comparing different cars.
2) People's expectations about "noise" are radically different
3) Different cars will have different results - BMW vs. Mustang or whatever - on same tires.
4) Different roads (surfaces) generate different noise. Concrete versus normal asphalt versus chip-sealed roads, for instance.

You would do well to check the TESTs rather than REVIEWS

That and THAT.

Also, how many sets of tires will people really buy on a car? I understand some people who have the car for 100k+ mi might but a lot of people lease and won't even get a new set.

Michelins are the quietest tires I've had, regardless of type.

Reviews can help, but keep in mind they are written by the public. If 10% of the general population are morons, this applies to review writers as well.

There are always those who won't get an alignment, then complain about wear, noise & short life.

Also understand that people are not above posting negative reviews of competitor's products.
