2009 550, dashboard BRAKE light came on

On my dashboard, the error light for BRAKE just came on. Can anyone throw me a bone? It's the same light that comes on red when you pull on the emergency brake. But this light is orange... same light.

So are we talking the standard brakes need checked? Or the emergency brake needs checked?

I think you meant to post this over in the e60 forum for the 5-series. As to your question, if your car's computer works anything like ours (I assume it does), you should be able to navigate through the menus into the service info to get more detail. My guess is you'll find that the front or rear brakes are worn, and not long for this world.
