1980 BMW 320i, is this a good price?

Hey, guys new to this site. First off I've been looking for a nice Bimmer for 6-8 months now and I think I found the right car(Link down below). This will be my first car and I've done some research, but still unsure. It's seems to be in really good shape for the age and only 116k miles and it seems to check out mechanical. The guy is asking $2500 and I haven't really seen any 320i in my area for sale but from what I've seen them go for is $1200-$1800, would I be over paying? If so what should I offer him?

Well there was some spots of rust here and there, but not to much that it couldn't be sanded or buffed out. And as far as I know it looked like a solid engine. The only thing was the brakes were soft.

Have you test driven it? The one I'm getting only has 190K on it but it drives and handles like new and I'm only paying 1k

If the BMW is in a very good condition then there is not harm in buying it. Just take a test drive of this bmw occasion to see that it rides well and all its parts are intact. And as for the money I think $2500 for a used car is a bit more, so I suggest you negotiate the price with the owner and pay about $1900 for this car.
