Mein Auto: 2002 M3
Hello!

I have a 2002 M3 and my DSC and Anti-lock brake lights have started coming on. I can feel something "jump" in the left front and I can hear something in the master cylinder area. It comes and goes. It came on today after sitting a week but on the way home from work it did not happen.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to Bimmerfest! I've moved your thread to the E46 M3 forum, you'll get more help in here. Try searching around for answers already posted to this question, it is a semi common problem. I would guess you have a bad wheel speed sensor, you should be able to get the codes read and it will tell you which one. Or if there is some other problem.

Mein Auto: what ever starts
If you have the skills you can try cleaning the sensor. They are just magnets so over time they will pick up crap. Once it hits a certain level of metal it fools the system into thinking the wheel is locked up.

I put new brakes on it a couple of weeks ago and things have been fine since. The front brakes were shot but the back brakes were still fine but I went ahead and did all four.
Thanks for your help.

More trouble

Well I spoke too soon. The traction light and the orange tire light came on again this weekend. I could feel the master cylinder jumping like it does when the anti-lock brakes come on and it actually grabbed the front left brake when it happened. It has done every time about 10 minutes after starting the car and driving a little.
What in the world is this? I replaced the brake sensor when I did the brakes a month ago.
ANy help would be appreciated.
