328i Power loss

I have a 2007 328i MT. All is well most of the time. However, at times, the car will seem to lose power. To the point where it seems to fight me in first gear. Sometimes, the shifts are harder than I'd like bc the car seems to lose more speed than it should from first to second. I've driven many manuals in my day and this just feels un natural. It doesn't do it all of the time. However, it seems to get worse with the ac on. It also, revs hard in first but the power just seems to flatten out early and I gain no speed. Makes me dread shifting on steep inclines. Also, revs seem to bounce in idle. Thanks for the insight.
