2009 335i CD Problem

Hi everyone,

I own a 2009 335i E92

There is a problem with sound on the CD

Radio works fine. Sound is there.
Aux works fine. Sound is there.
Bluetooth works fine. I can use my phone.

CD seems to work fine. It reads songs on regular discs. It reads files properly on MP3 cd-s. However, there is no sound from the speakers.

Does anyone know what could be the issue here? Thanks

I went to Parkview BMW in Toronto. They can't solve the problem quickly. Told me that I would have to replace the unit. Estimate at $1,213.85

I am sure that the solution is much simpler

The optical eye for your CD drive drive is probably bad.

If you have nav, the drive is replaceable.

Not sure about the normal, non-nav HUs.

Look on eBay for used radios.

I assume these same cd's work in other players that are capable of the format
they are recorded with.

If its a pro radio you can probably buy one for 400 to 500 bucks and some of the newer ones
have USB and bluetooth built in but require coding.
