2007 335i overheating

Hi guys I hope you can help me, my car started overheating on the way to work it showed the yellow water sign then turned to red and car turned off, but I made it to work, I left it parked until I got out, I checked coolant and it was topped off didn't have to put in any, so I drove home on limp mode for about 40 mins. And right when I got home it threw the signal again but no coolant leak. I just got back from a road trip to mexico roads aren't good. I'm lost please help, thanks!!!!

lol not fuel pump, it's your water pump that's failing.

Stop driving it. You can do more harm than good. Get it towed and have the pump and tstat replaced.

Yeah thought so usually when it's fuel pump car won't start lol but my friend had same issue he said it was the water pump, it's so weird that it doesn't leak, it might just be the thermostat, it might no be letting water in, I noticed water level doesn't go down when I turn it on and the hoses are soft

See here Driller, don't you know water is a fuel?

This mod will change everything in the next few months.

What's weird is that it doesn't leak coolant, nothing! I can drive it for 40 mins straight!!! I don't want to change water pump if it's not water pump, to my understanding any water pump that goes bad will just throw the coolant out.

BMW uses an electric water pump and most of the time it fails because the motor/impeller has frozen up and is not spinning. It would not leak coolant.
