Rim lights

Hey Bimmerfest, I wanted to put lights on my rims and was curious if they are legal in California
A set like this:

I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the comments on this one! Ha!

I had no idea this was a thing. Watched a couple of YouTube videos and all I can say is wow and no thanks. But there is supposed to be a forum at www.streetglow.com to answer questions like this. Enjoy.

I seriously doubt that those are legal. Don't do it.

Love 'em! Any why wouldn't they be legal?

But, Yo! What about an upgrade?

Oh fml, OK I'll admit it this wasn't my brightest idea, but the thing is that I want something like the image but the rims to be black (to be safe) but still some way to have the light blue

Nay sayers from Texas and points East just can't understand....no, they say it's ugly....lowbrow....sophomoric. Man, don't get stuck up with that!

Let your original thought stand. Nurture it....let it grow. Try! Push the envelope and let yer Freak Flag fly!

Pics after install! Worst that can happen: Couple o'bucks....

Thanks CALWATERBOY DUE, but on this idea of the light bulb I'm just going to let it die down, but still going to pursue the big picture

Yet I am inspired by your idea. Yes. With Dub Pimp hubs, can for instance, on passing an Audi, flash a guy pee'g on those rings!

Jumpin' Jeez, hope they mount on my alloys....who's got 'em?

Well even the fact that you considered such a thing is cause for concern. Do you want to go ahead and ask our opinions about curb feelers, DUBs, shag carpet on the dash, or anything else you might be pondering?

Wrong ... well politically incorrect. Funny???

I was thinking more along the lines of a slammed car with 22s, leds on the rocker panels, and a dual 6" fart can exhaust!

Combine those lights with some spiffy spinners and you'd really have something.

Basically everything is illegal or soon to be illegal in California - pretty sure you can't even fart legally there anymore!

Oh, it's legal; but the CARB (California Air Resources Board) has proposed that catalytic converters be required for such emissions.
