Just got my car last week and it works with the bluetooth... and it also allows you to dial by name... although it took like 3 days for it to load or start working and displaying the names in the phone. But the system hears me and pulls up the correct name but cannot say them correctly.

Sony Ericcson C905
I've had the Nokia N95 for a couple of years. At first it did not match my BMW525d bluetooth at all. Recently I had the most recent auto software update download and still it did not work. I updated my phone and it worked but it is intermittent and it keeps disconnecting at the most awkward moment. Since I have given up and I want a mobile phone with a good camera, I am considering getting the Sony Ericcson C905. Does anyone have any information about its compatibility or the compatibility of other previous SE models?

Got a Blackberry tour. It sync'd fine, had an error downloading my address book, probably because I have email addresses attached but I can scroll through the address display and all of my address book appears to be there.
Just one problem as I posted in the Tour thread. Once the Tour sync's my Nav displays shows a continuous active call to a point where it dims the radio volume like I'm speaking on the phone. I can't dial through the car but can through my phone. Thought it my be the continuous 3G connection for the internet but the problem persists when I turn this off. Still trying to figure it out. Unfortunately, this will limit the bluetooth connections usefullness. |

I tried to use this thread to choose a new phone from but unfortunately only a very few phones are discussed. So I pulled the plug and just got me a new Sony Ericsson W995.
2005 530iA (software updated to CIP31) [x] make/receive calls [x] download adressbook [-] SMS functionality The other functions I do not know how to check so I can not comment on, but for me the most important are the first two features. In fact it behaves exactly like the SE k850i which is on BMW's compatibility list. I hope more people will add their experiences with phones which are not yet covered in this thread (I have read enough about iPhones and blackberry's) |

Anybody with the tour noticing muffled or decreased clarity with bluetooth conversations? I can use my tour, sounds more muffled, then use my bold and it is clear as day. Tried repairing and everything, but no difference.

nope. i got that phone hoping it would work. it did for about a month. then it stopped. im extremely disappointed in the selection of phones from bmw. you would think that with the high price of their cars, they would get all phones to work.

Yes, mine has worked fine. I just took my car in today for an unrelated problem with the Bluetooth system, and found out that no Curve model with Verizon service is authorized for pairing with the BMW system, though. The Pearl is, and I understand the Bluetooth hardware to be equivalent for both. So I was really surprised. But I just checked the BMWUSA site, and it's true.
