That would be great... I picked up my 05 545i on Saturday (July 2nd), paired my Verizon BB7250 easily, and can make calls no problem. Having the BB's fully approved would be icing on the cake!

17.2 causing phone book transfer problem. . .
New problem since car was reprogrammed to 17.2.
I have a Motorola V551 that worked great with 13.X With the new software my address book does not transfer. Actually, some of it transfers - at random. Wierd. All of my numbers in the phone are entered the same way? BMWNA said it will take up to an hour to transfer, it has now been about 5 hours with no change. Anyone have suggestions? a. I have deleted the phone from the car and repaired it with no change. b. If I add a name and number to the phone it transfers. C. If I delete it on the phone, it deletes from the car list. Is this a TCU problem? Help.

Phone model: Blackberry 7250(Verizon Wireless)
Car model: 2006 525i [x] ability to make/receive calls [ ] phone book automatically synches to car [x] dial by name (without verbal training of system) [ ] calling name display (using adddress book) [ ] ability to send/receive SMS The voice command works, incoming and outgoing calling is fine. The address book sync does not work, I had to manually enter phone numbers I use frequently through the voice command method...To dial numbers in my BB, I find them and initiate dialing on the BB, but the bluetooth kicks in and the call is placed through the car system. The audio system automatically mutes to accomodate the call. Not perfect, but good. I am waiting for the address book sync, then I will be in great shape. |

2006 750Li w/ Verizon's Samsung i730
No way to make it work. After pairing, the car starts "reading data" and keeps doing it forever. I can not make or receive calls.

V710 with Bluetooth Retrofit in '04 330i; what works for me
[x] ability to make/receive calls
[ ] phone book automatically synches to car [ ] dial by name (without verbal training of system) [ ] calling name display (using adddress book) [?] ability to send/receive SMS I have 2004 330i with the retrofit Bluetooth kit; it's the early ULF module part number: 84 21 6 934 552 Phone Motorola V710 Verizon service firmware: 8700_01.30.8F I can dial out with voice commands through the voice command module after training the module with names and phone numbers. Press the voice button on the steering wheel; "Add Number", say the name "NAME"; say the number "XXX-XXX-XXXX", "Store Number", etc. I can recieve calls automatically, the phone connects to the system; turns off the radio and puts the call over the sound system. No phonebook transfer. Have not tried SMS (don't use it much, old fashioned kind of guy ;-) I tried upgrading the V710 firmware to the SuperDave hacked version of 8700_01.40.0R (called 8700_1.02.SD) (see www.inetron.com if interested). But this just caused endless cycling of bluetooth connect/disconnect without being able to send or receive calls. Downgraded back to the original firmware (8700_01.30.8F) and still had the connect/disconnect cycle. "Oh God, I hosed my phone, I went from a working system to a broken one". On a whim I did a master reset on the phone and the bluetooth started working again, though still no phonebook transfer. Got me thinking (maybe you too?); should I go back to the new firmware and try a master reset and see if I can get the bluetooth working again? The new firmware has some other nice features. I tried it, but it didn't work even after doing a master reset and a master clear. So back to the original firmware again. Now at least I have a functioning system. No phonebook transfer but I can train the voice control system with 5-10 numbers, which is all I really need in the car on regular basis. I'm not sure why I want to transfer 100 numbers to my headunit anyway, I don't use most of them very often. |

Treo 650
I've got my Treo 650 working well in a 2006 530XI. Her is what I did. I updated the palm software (ROM) and that worked to keep the connection from dropping intermittently which it was doing before. Regarding the address book---I have found that the number I put into the speed dial shortcuts under the green phone screen sync perfectly to the car. Which is actually probably preferable because I can get about 70 phone numbers into the iDrive which saves from scrolling through 100’s of numbers I will never call. Every time I get in the car now my phone is automatically recognized---basically it works flawlessly. Hope this can help someone. You can email directly if you have questions mcortez@aventinecp.com.

The Treo 650 will wok just fine. You ned the updated Bluetooth software available from Palm One. The address book will not transfer, but once you get updated software the phone will pair great with the car and any numbers on your five foavorites buttons in the phone interface will transfer to the address book in the car. 12VGUY |

Phones
Pick up Eurodelivery 530xi & 330i. Have bought a Motorola Razor V3. Hope it works when I get to Europe. The BMW bluetooth web site http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/6...oth_phones.pdf
Indicates it is compatible, but no charging cradle. Check web site BMW is regularly updating it. |

frustrating
I don't know if I'm dumb or what. I have a 2006 525i and I've just bought a Razr V3. It does not seem to sync. And the password-where in the world do I find that? And in case I do get a password how do I enter it in the idrive?

Phone model: Motorola Razr V3
Car model: 2006 525i [ Y] ability to make/receive calls [ Y] phone book automatically synches to car [ Y] dial by name (without verbal training of system) WITH verbal training [ Y] calling name display (using adddress book) [ ] ability to send/receive SMS - Haven't tried ---------------------------------------------- Piece of cake. Got the BMW VIP program phone, and the dealer synched them for me, though it was a very easy process. Works like a charm...but...you really should use the car charger since the bluetooth connection drains the battery. Overall...9.5 out of 10! |

I tried pairing a Samsung i730 with my 2006 530xi w/nav. It would sync for about 1 minute and then disconnect. My IT guy did some research and says that the Microsoft OS PDAs will not play well with the BMW Bluetooth systems.

Glad to hear that there is success in pairing this phone. I have a 2005 330ci and have considered waiting for nextel to release the i870. However, it seems that the bluetooth functionality is a bit fickle and the E815 looks like a great phone. Guess it's time to switch... |

But you can still do it on your own. Activate the bluetooth in i-Drive. On the V3 set the phone to search. The phone will find a bluetooth connection with a name that will display on your phone screen: i.e. BMW12345. Your passkey (when prompted to enter) is the numbers that follow BMW. The passkey is entered on the V3 not the i-Drive. Enter that and you're done. Depending on the number of entries in your address book, this may take several minutes to sync the first time so be patient. With the exception of SMS, you should have full functionality with the V3. |
