Mein Auto: BMW 335is, 2015 X1
Introduction

Hello all. I just wanted to introduce myself to the X1 community. I currently own a 2011 335is that is in my signature, and have also owned a '08 328xi and a 2009 Z4, but I just finished up the paperwork for a 2015 X1 Xdrive28i (at least I think that is the way it goes). This one will be for my wife who wants to downsize from our 2012 Dodge Durango R/T. I had the chance to drive one at my local dealer in Colorado Springs and it seemed like it was going to be a great fit in our family. I thought that it may not be powerful enough after what we currently drive, but I like the feel of the turbo four and the low end torque it has. My wife's only input was on what color she wanted and also wanted some basic stuff like Bluetooth and a garage door opener. Lucky for me she wanted LeMans Blue which automatically meant we had to get the M-Sport version which I am more than happy to get. After I test drove the car I sat down with my CA and looked over the list of cars that were already in production or already complete and en-route to dealers in our region. We happened to find one that was already headed to a dealer in Denver and it was the right color and had the Ultimate package and heated seats which as it turns out is an exact match for what we were looking for. I hope to have it within the next week after the dealers do their little dance and secret handshake to make the exchange. Pics to come soon I hope.

Congrats! You'll love it. I'm six months in, the X1 drives like its on rails still. Plenty of power, all the room I need, and the fun looks you'll get trying to figure out if it's a wagon or SUV!

D'you mind giving some details on the deal? Lease or purchase? I'm curious about what discounts if any they may have given by ordering a car already in the States. I'm planning to do European Delivery but if you got a great deal just by searching through dealer stock maybe that'll be the smarter way to go.

Heaven forbid you tell my wife it is a wagon. There were two of them on the showroom floor and both of them in colors she likes, but she swore she would never drive one.

We went with a lease on this one since we have never had one before and we weren't sure we would like it, but we got a $500 discount for the lease and another $500 from USAA and that put me at $500 under invoice. I think we were lucky to find exactly what we wanted, but my CA always works hard for me and said he would get me the same deal whether I found it local or if I ordered it. We actually started negotiations at $500 over invoice which I like because he is always square with me up front and there is never any hassles.

Oh yeah... That was my thing too. I was always torn with the idea of a Wagon. But it's an SAV and it's quick as hell, so there's no qualms about it. It's a BMW and a damn good one at that. It took driving one to change my min about my misconceptions.

It was opposite for me. My wife had to make me drive one because she liked it and it made more sense for utility. I drove it and never looked back.

Well, just picked it up yesterday and even though it is my wife's vehicle I got to drive it home from the dealer because she is always afraid to drive a new vehicle. I am happy with it in the short time I have had to drive it.

Mein Auto: X1 X28
congrats

Congrats on the new X1 -- I've had mine since March -- a 2014 X28 in the silver with black interior and just love it -- for me it was the perfect size -- not too small, not too big, and it has the right amount of pickup, speed, comfort, and class -- all in one package....I got mine from the BMW dealer in Loveland, CO -- the dealer used it as a loaner for about 9 months, and it had just under 9000 miles when I picked it up -- but it was discounted about $6,000 from sticker price, and with the Certified Pre-owned status, I am good for 5 years... Anyhow, I wish you the best with yours....it's a sweet machine
