Smile 2011 Non Idrive X1

Dear All

Greetings to all of you

I am planning on a BMW X1 . Year 2012. This is a non-Idrive model so there is no navigation, reverse camera, etc...

want to find out whether a multimedia setup with video and navigation can be fit in without affecting the BMW look and feel

I did a search but the results were not found

thanks a million

cheers

mike

Well anytime that you make a change to the interior of a BMW, you will change the natural charm. That being said, I have seen the mod done very tastefully, and also very poorly. It just depends on what you will be adding and how you will install.

I wish I knew where I saw the writeup of an E84 owner adding the screen and nav into the dash in the storage compartment where the screen would go for stock iDrive. He even added a controller similar to the iDrive interface behind our shifter. It looked good, however it wasn't something that I would do personally. But, it's personal taste and it wasn't an eyesore.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a kit and he had to do some of his own fabrication work too in order to fit the screen in, so that's a consideration in your planning as well.

Hope this helps and good luck should you take on the project!

Nice find Stone. Nope, that's not the one that I saw. The OP may be in luck! That doesn't look bad at all!
