Car not the correct color - is that right?

I noticed that my car is the wrong color in the instrument display and iDrive. My car is Cashmere, but the graphics show it as being silver. On BMWUSA.com the color is correct. Come to think of it, the wheels are also the wrong type.

Is this the same for everyone? Has anyone fixed this via coding?

The car for the graphics is always silver, no matter the color of the real car.

That's a bit behind. I think you can change colors on Fords with mycolor for example.

It just ticks me off all the time. I see that graphic EVERY time I start the car. That's not my car it seems to say!

It's like how some people can't stand looking at the non-leather dash, or seeing a ding on the door.

Close your eyes upon start up.

Simple solution!

You're close to the end on this lease, so do another ED and get the car in silver!

Boom... simplified!

What other consumer devices that use large computer screens are not customized? The majority are. For example, if you get on a Delta plane, the screen image is not just "Boeing", but "Delta". I work in software. The first thing that any company wants, is their logo on the software. The next thing they want is their branded colors. They don't want it to be generic. IBM is working with Apple to sell iPads. Correction - "customized" iPads.

Should this be part of the "Individual" program? I would hope it wouldn't be chargeable. Like a language or time setting in iDrive. How would you feel if the graphics in the car looked like your car?

I find it strange that people are happy that they can "code" their car - but seem to accept that certain things like iDrive can't be coded and think that's fine.

Thank you. Actually, my life is not that great. Because I try and live simply. I don't have 10 watches, 5 cars, vacation home, dog etc. So I tend to have more bandwidth to gripe about the things I do have. I'm more into the "rental of things" model than "ownership". Less quantity, higher quality.

Same number of gripes spread over less number of things = More gripes per thing.

Hey man! When you think about it, all of us are paying rent and just passing through. The key, I think, is being happy where one is...sounds like you're there!
