Good deal on an 2015 M3?

Is 1000 over invoice a good deal? I suspect it is, but just thought I'd hear what others are getting. It would be a build, of that matters...not doing ED.

I keep hearing that they're going for MSRP or even over.

I for one could never pay MSRP for a BMW or Mercedes or the like, simply because I know the next year they'll be discounting them to hell. The only brand I'd pay MSRP for is Porsche, because they stick to their guns and charge what they charge, thus enhancing resale (if you buy).

If anyone's getting near Invoice (what is invoice on an M3?), or solid discounts, I'm subscribing....

A dealer near me offered about $1800 under standard MSRP, but it was for an ED, so not a very good deal. I'm shopping for one now, and I'd like to pay no more than $1500 over ED invoice. I'm happy to take delivery in the dead of winter, too. Lots of dealers here charging over MSRP for cars already on the lot.

It seems really random the prices... There's always going to be discounts after a while... I guess if you want the car now and/or you are in the market for a new car, then you're gonna get what you get.

Huh... I actually thought it would have been a higher in SOCAL... like closer to MSRP.

Is anyone getting below invoice for non-ED and not PCD? I would think not with the supply/demand at this point.

I can't wait to see the prices people are getting in December or early next year and get pissed.

That is correct. Majority of dealers in SO CAL chare MSRP(and over) but there are few who are willing to deal.
I don't think situation will change drastically in December if the allocation are still tight. JMO

Not sure if you've visited Renlist.com. Those guys are buying special ordered 2015 911s for 8% discount.

Yeah 911's I know can get some discount (expensive Porsche's will always get more), but still paltry compared to similarly priced Bimmer's as especially Merc's. But Cayenne's and going forward I'm sure Macan's will probably go for at or very near MSRP for the vast duration of their production runs.

+1 I came to my senses after I put in order for the M4. Wait 1 year and pricing will flip flop. So instead I had my dealer find a 550i and got $3500 UNDER invoice which is easy to do this time of year. I will wait next year, put my wife's 535xi on LeaseTrader and get the M4 at invoice. She can then drive the 550i which she likes anyway so everyone is happy! Always thinking ahead...

Some dealers will always hold out for MSRP or near because there is always an idiot that wants the car so badly they will pay too much for it. If Porches are selling at MSRP I find that crazy as you see them on Carmax lots here in Charlotte all the time that are 1 to 2 years old with 20,000 some miles on them and already 50% off the original purchase price. Some people say they hold their value, but they are only valuable to a select group of people...therefore very hard to sell.

Seems some dealers are giving ED price without ED. Anyone getting that or are people just screwing around?

I think it is very doable to get an M car on the dealer lots for 7% off MSRP easily. M cars often set on the lot for a long time. There are usually not that many of them, but they do not move quickly. They are more expensive and the performance they offer is not needed or even wanted by that many people. M car enthusiasts often create the market. If you are willing to drive to a smaller market where they do not sell that many you could probably get a great deal. By all means do not pay MSRP for any car! That is just giving your money away.

For sure...would definitely not pay MSRP... It's just a question of finding the right dealer, the right timing (of the market and their motivation)... I suppose. It seems right now, most dealers - regardless of market are keeping the 3s and 4s pretty close to msrp. I wonder how long that will last.

Well, around the end of the year I bet they will deal for sure.

I'll consider an M3 strongly with a minimum 10% discount, more likely 15% (which is where I'll seriously consider getting it). That would put my $73,xxK build at around $62-$64K which is my sweet spot.

I just don't trust BMW in holding steady on not budging for long periods of time. When you pay MSRP, you just don't want to feel like a sucker anytime soon down the line.
