If you're timing allows you to wait, i'm sure you'll get a better deal than what others are getting now...just nature of market dynamics. Some people are in the market now for a ride, so they will get it and deal with the price change consequences. Ultimately, the first-in buyers will likely realize they could have gotten the same car for a lower price down the road. It's natural and assumed.

Which dealers? It would be awesome to get ED prices without the expense. I really don't see that happening.

The difference in ED Invoice and MSRP and US Invoice and MSRP is only 7%. Going to a lot and buying an M car for 7% of US MSRP should be very doable if you go at the right time. Now is probably not the time. End of the year should be easy.

Yes there is an approximate 7% difference between US MSRP and ED MSRP. There is an additional 7%+ between ED MSRP and ED invoice.

You passed on an under MSRP deal? I got a little more than that under MSRP from a friend here in So.Cal, and I jumped on it. My M4 was the first M4 his dealer has discounted. Cars are NOT going for MSRP in most places in California; most are $5k-10k OVER. Under MSRP is definitely a deal, especially on such a sought after car with limited available allocations, and that has only been on city streets the better part of a month.

There must be a high demand in Cal then i passed mainly because the looks of the new M4 doesn't justify a payment twice as much i have currently. As for the power, im right about the same. Maybe next summer when there will be lots of M4's on the lot i will get one. That is if the M2 doesn't come out

Doubt anyone is getting a 10% discount right now on these cars...especially ones on the lot.

Agreed! That's an unrealistic expectation.

Based on M3 history, you guys think 10+% would be attainable by next year, say during holiday season (most aggressive time)?

10% is going to be hard to achieve on a new F8X even if you waited a year. You're basically asking to have a $75k car discounted to $67,500. Hell, that's below invoice. That's not going to happen on an ///M3 or ///M4. Historically, they are far too popular to give away like that, and they tend to maintain that value/popularity.

Thanks! That's what I'm looking for. Basically trying to gauge what could be realistically attainable from these cars, based on historical data, being as how I haven't followed their pricing up until now.

If price is a motivating factor, order a base F8X. Even the base car is well equipped. The Executive Package, Full Leather and DCT bump the price of the car up significantly. If you want a stick and don't care about a leather dash, Comfort Access or leather seats, I'd opt for a base car with the $1200 19" upgraded wheels and call it a day (...unless you plan to buy wheels). Even with ZEC only, the car is under $70k.

Can you please PM the dealership that offered you this as well? I'm new to SoCal but looking for a good dealer to either do ED through or price out a good deal locally.

Thanks,

Anyone here have a M3/M4 yet? I've yet to see one but BMW of El Cajon says the General Manager has one he's been driving. I just want to hear/see it in person.

=)

My M4 will be in my possession within a couple of days. Where in So.Cal are you? You're more than welcome to come to one of the coding meets and check out my car.

Doesn't sound bad at all. What was the MSRP of the car?

MSRP was 76.5K. I just emailed the salesman. After looking at my USAA pricing I'm coming up with 72.6K so I'm sure my taxes and tags weren't over 5.4K I'm hoping I made a mistake.

Yours and mine may be arriving at the same time...East coast and West coast!

Maybe this is a random and wrong question - new to all of this - are people getting ED prices for vehicles that are already on a dealer lot? What about new orders, but not ED pickup? Sorry for the newbie question.
