I'm sorry, a newbie here. Does ED mean European Delivery? If so I did not buy this over in Europe. I ordered it from Quality Imports in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. who ordered it for me.

I'm so frustrated over these numbers and haggling. I just want the freaking car. Totaled mine (Lady rode in front of me) May 21 and have been riding my Harley since. I CAN'T WAIT!

BTW, I just got sent a BMW Ultimate Drive Event invitation, which gives you $1K off of any (I believe any) BMW. Match that with a dealer willing to do ED pricing on a non ED car, or whatever tricks can be pulled to get over 7% off MSRP, and you're getting nearer to that 10% "sweet spot".

i love confusion... guess i was trying to say or ask, is if a car is already on the lot... what should be the expectation from a price perspective? Is it the 7-10% off MRSP? KA mentioned that above, so that's what i'm understanding.

I also would never consider paying MSRP, especially in today's world where we all know what the dealers pay as well as any incentives. I would rather wait for year end or even well into a year or two production cycle. Over MSRP, NEVER!

That being said, if you shop around and don't mind traveling outside your immediate area, I'm pretty sure one can find deals. Case in point, I was able to negotiate $1750 off my MSRP when I place my order at the end of May of this year. Phone work, face to face, and a sense of "I'm ready to buy right now if you give me what I want" or I'll walk, helps a deal get down in your favor.

Or just take your wife with you, they tend to win every time!

Also LA area have 10 dealers. For example Southbay BMW will beat any resonable offer on paper.
December '08 i got my E90 for $3k under MSRP, It was at time of realestate market crash.

I'd be interesting in seeing what deals you find. Do post them up.

I picked up my coupe yesterday. I absolutely love this car. Click image for larger version

Love that color! The only thing that would keep me from getting it would be paranoia of paint matching if an unfortunate occurrence, also the rarity of it making people inexperienced in treating it as well as maybe a lack of support from all touch up paint vendors.

Point being, I could see it making me a lot more paranoid about paint upkeep than I already get. Case in point by this post.

I don't think it requires any more or less maintenance than the other colors, but matching will take work. FWIW, IND has done a good job of matching it.

Trust me! The color is legit. I've had the car less than 24 hours, and two Motor officers from different departments and multiple motorists have talked to me about the color. It's striking!

Best way is, to sell your car if you not upside down.
Some dealers would match trade in amount from Carmax.
Another thing that you can do is post your car trough KBB:
http://www.kbb.com/trade-in-a-car/
And get multiple offers from local dealers. Make sure your car is clean and ready for inspection.

I sold my 335i to Carmax. Their offers are very fair in my experience.

I'm in Orange County and just ordered an M3 for MSRP, although they wanted to charge a dealer markup of $3,200 (LoJack, Tinted Windows, Etc). Since I'm placing a special order for the car, is this the same thing as ED? Or do you have to travel to Europe and pickup the car to get the discount?

Others who have ordered a custom M3 from a dealer, have you paid Below, at or Above MSRP? -- Thanks

There is ED pricing which is about 7% less then MSRP, BTW, you might want to contact a sponcer of BF and see if they can give you a better price, Greg Poland does wonders.

I inquired with Greg Poland about an M3 less than a month ago and was told, "if you think you're getting a new M3 for less than MSRP, you're looking at the wrong car." I sent build sheets to my local dealers and let them compete against each other with excellent results.

Yes he is correct... we sell all M3 and M4's at ED MSRP.... there is always an exception to that rule. I have sold over 15 so far. And every client was very understanding about paying MSRP.

Looking excellent bud!

I saw a AY on the street and its similar that it changes color under different lighting. It was sunny out so the green was really shining through the yellow.

I am hoping it will be the same for SO, which is what I ordered...

As for M pricing, sorry can't help you there, I am in Canada. However, I was able to get 2-3% off MSRP, which I was happy with. So, if anyone in Toronto needs a hook up, let me know.

SO is the same in terms of its color change properties. It's absolutely beautiful at dusk.
