X3 35i now in production!

Can't wait for my new "SAV"

Have to give up my 2004 Touareg V8 after 136,000+ fantastic miles. Hate to give it up but it is getting old. Also, My 2004 V8 still drives better than the new 2014Touaregs. One reason I am making the switch to the BMW. Downsizing but upgrading!!! Also able to stay with the same great dealership (VW sales manager saw me come in, looked at me and said, "You're driving my demo!"). Not bad after 10 1/2 years! They also took very good care of me with a 1st year model Touareg that did have numerous problems no questions asked that other owner's dealers refused to take care of (according to VW Vortex forum)

Mineral Silver Metallic
Saddle Brown Nevada Leather
winter Package (Heated steering wheel now a necessity not a luxury)
Handling Package (1984 Season Class Champ,Watkins Glen -- gotta keep skills sharp)
+ many other goodies!

Hope to have it sometime next week!

27K miles so far on our '13 X3 M Sport 3.5 - bullet proof and fun to drive!
We have had 8 BMWs and our X3 3.5 may be the best all-arounder.

Congrats on your new X3 - get ready to fall in love all over again.....

Thanks

We love our 2011 X3 3.5 as well. But was getting concerned about maintenance after the 4 years of warranty. So decided to trade in the 2011 for a 2015..

Got the call this morning! Picking up my new X3 tomorrow morning! My '04 Touareg seems to know. Not happy with me this morning. Very sluggish driving to work!

Coming back to BMW community after 40 years (My grandmother drove a 70's Bavaria -- nice car but tuned for Autoban she was always going at least 85mph!)

Congratulations. Enjoy your baby..

My car also came in, to Keeler BMW this morning only [instead of Tuesday]. I guess they must have come in the same transport truck.

Congrats! Why 35i rather than 28i? Big performance difference?

I know your question was addressed to Capobranco.

But, We went down from 2011 35Xi to 2015 28Xi. The only thing that we miss is the ..Vroom... from the 35Xi. Otherwise for city driving and highway driving the 28Xi is as good as the 35 Xi. With the 35Xi it felt like a race horse taking off. The 28Xi is smooth as butter and is equally fast for day to day use.

I was initially concerned about going to 28Xi. So far, after 3 days of use and after 300 + miles... I think 28Xi is as good as the 2011 35Xi.

Never considered the 4 cyl. thought would be too much loss of power and performance from 305 hp V8 on Touareg. Very happy with the 35. Same hp but almost 2000 lbs. lighter than the VW makes for a really fun drive. In that it is only three days old, haven't yet really pushed the car yet. As Nikki Lauda said, still learning what the car is telling my a$$ as I learn it's language.

But so far, the car has exceeded my expectations.
