Exclamation 06 e65 (750i)

New here and been looking through the threads, but no luck just yet. Car had battery, pulley and alternator replaced about a month ago. Right after that, as car was been used, a noise that increases to LOUD as car warms up or as it is warm and standing still for about a minute is driving me nuts. It doesn't do it when driving or as soon as car stops. Someone stated that it is the fan clutch, to which I dismissed for 06 E65 has no fan clutch only a one piece electric fan (checked under BMW and part number is 17427543282). But don't really know what can it be this time. Don't want to go out and spend $600 dls on a whole fan shroud to later find out it wasn't it. Help! It seems to be getting worse!

Unhappy

MR B Mera, thanks but unfortunately this in not what my car is doing. The noise does not start right away. It is until the car is warm that it starts doing it and when it comes to a stop, but does not do it once car accelerates. I sounds as if it was coming from the recently refurbished alternator.

Just to rule out noise generated from a slipping serpentine belt, you can pour water on the belt when it is squeaking.
If the pitch changes, it could be the belt or a component that is difficult to turn.

Noisy bad alternator!

Recorded a video of the embarrassing noise the car was making and finally today my suspicion was verified. After replacing the pulleys and belt and almost the entire fan unit (for mechanics were just now guessing about where the noise was coming from and making me buy all this parts). It had been the alternator all along! (If only the mechanics had listened to me from the beginning!) Anyways, it was found that some type of silicon seal around the rebuild alternator was missing and I believe a rectifier was also mentioned. Then about an hour later. After everything was set in place. Noise is gone! YES! It was very embarrassing driving around with this loud noise! Thanks to all who collaborated anyways.
