Unhappy Horrible luck with my 328xi

I'm so upset. I've had two things happen one after the other and I need some advice.

First, I ordered a salad for take out and as I get in my car the lid pops off and half the salad fell into the black hole that is located between the drivers seat and the middle console area. I got most of it up but it is basically impossible to get my hand into some of the area where it has spilled and I don't know how I can get the rest of it cleaned up? Is there a way to take the car seat out?

As if that wasn't enough, I left the sunroof open (on accident) over night when it rained. There was about 3 inches of water the next morning in the back floor board areas! Any tips on how to make sure it doesn't mildew or anything? It rained pretty hard.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. My car is starting to smell

The seats can be removed by taking out the 4, T45 or T50 torx bolts at each corner of the seat frame rails.

If you remove the seat completely, you will have to unplug the airbag module under the seat. Disconnect the battery BEFORE disconnecting the airbag module or you will throw hard faults in the MRS module and you will have airbag lights on until you can get them cleared with a proper diagnostic tool.

You should be able to just tilt the seat forward or back to clean the area you soiled though.

Wet vac all the water out. Leave the car parked in the sun with all the windows open. Using a dehumidifier or ozone generator may help. Do it fast or mold will start to grow under the carpet.

Removing the seatbelt isn't too difficult, the small plastic piece hides the seatbelt bolt.

I have a baby shop vac that has a very flat thin attachment. It fits in all the crevices and you can use it to suck up the water. No need to take out the seats.

Wow! I'm hoping it wasn't Ceasar or Chinese Chicken.

If not, please clairify: Italian or Blue Cheese?

Just get a half dozen of those pine tree deodorant things, hang 'em all from the rear view mirror, and you're good.

I assume you shop vac'd the water out of the car immediately. If not, you're going to wish you did.

Best thing to do is to bring the car to a detail shop, tell them your story and pay to get it cleaned out.

Agree. OP needs an extractor and the seats to indeed need to be at least released and tilted to get under the seats.

It all seems perfect timing to me, make a mess in your car, leave the sunroof open, Mother Nature washes it all up. Open the doors, mop and air out-done!
